The Workshop GuyBuilt. Restored. Trusted.
Independent automotive craftsmanship · Kya Sands
The Workshop Guy connects professionally prepared vehicles, dependable workshop support and specialist restoration under one accountable, trusted name.

Every vehicle.
Every repair.
Every restoration.
Done properly.
The proposition
The Workshop Guy responds to a persistent weakness in the automotive market: a customer buys from one organisation, services through another, repairs through a third and restores through unrelated specialists. Standards and accountability change at every handover.
We remove that fragmentation. A customer may first arrive to purchase a dependable bakkie, diagnose a mechanical concern or restore a cherished classic. That first interaction becomes a longer relationship encompassing inspection, preparation, maintenance, upgrades, resale and replacement.
The origin
The Workshop Guy was not conceived in a boardroom. Its foundation was formed through practical exposure to cars as products, machines, investments, livelihoods and sources of personal pride.
Growing up with a father and two brothers who were deeply passionate about vehicles meant cars were bought, sold, modified, broken and repaired. Classical Jaguars were restored as a hobby, and one defining family lesson endured: work should be completed the right way.
That early grounding became professional experience across Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Peugeot, Jeep, Opel and Volkswagen, together with management and ownership exposure in workshops, panel beating and automotive recycling.
“There is pride in a person’s car. Our job is to protect that pride through honest advice and work completed properly.”
Sales and operational experience across Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Peugeot, Jeep, Opel and Volkswagen.
From approximately nine vehicles per month to an average of about forty-five in the first year under renewed leadership.
Retail, workshop operations, panel beating, restoration, recycling, customer service and business ownership.
One trusted team supporting the customer throughout the vehicle ownership lifecycle.
Integrated capability
Each division strengthens the next. Sales introduces the relationship, workshop support earns recurring trust, restoration makes craftsmanship visible, and upgrades extend customer value.

Values become credible only when they are translated into repeatable controls. The Standard governs every vehicle, quotation, repair, restoration and customer update.
Record every vehicle as found. Material defects are never minimised to secure a sale or project.
Separate known work, provisional allowances and potential discoveries before approval.
Inspection sheets, photographs, parts records and milestone updates create a credible history.
Technician sign-off and independent final inspection are required before delivery.
Delays, additional findings and cost risks are raised before they become surprises.
Legitimate concerns are handled promptly, professionally and with accountability.
Flagship case study
The finished vehicle attracts attention. The documented process earns trust.
The Ultimate Jeep Build demonstrates the methodology behind the brand. Its journey has been recorded from workshop arrival and condition assessment through systematic strip-down, chassis preparation, bodywork, suspension, paint, interior development, engine preparation and final assembly.
The value lies in more than the final vehicle. Every milestone proves capability, preserves decisions, protects the customer relationship and creates an authentic history of the work.
Customer experience
Clear estimates, written approval, visual evidence, proactive updates and accountable quality control turn an automotive transaction into an enduring relationship.
